The Ministry of, Shipping and Civil Aviation states that the sea passenger vessel, which started from the ports of Nagapatnam in India and Kankasantura in Sri Lanka, will make its maiden voyage today.
The fifty-passenger vessel from Nagapatnam is scheduled to reach Kankasanthuraya port at around 11.30 am today. The ship is scheduled to depart for India at 2.30 pm today.
The Indian Shipping Corporation operates the passenger ferry service and a new passenger terminal has been constructed at Kankasanturaya Port for immigration purposes.
A round trip ticket costs Rs 53,500 and a one way ticket costs Rs 27,000.
