President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has instructed the security forces to expedite the process of releasing private lands in the North and East, which were taken over by the government during the war to establish military camps, back to the relevant parties.
The President gave these instructions while participating in a discussion held at the Parliament Complex yesterday (20).
The President also instructed the security forces during the discussion regarding the importance of national security and the location of military camps required for that purpose.
Based on that, he also pointed out the need to reach an urgent decision regarding the lands that can be re-released and the lands that cannot be released.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has also said that when determining the amount of lands that cannot be released for security reasons, the maximum amount of lands that can be considered and rejected by the people should be released.
