The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president Rajeev Shukla has heaped praise on Sri Lankan young batsman Sonal Dhinush.
Appreciating the excellent batting of rookie Sonal Dhinush against the Indian team, the Indian cricket vice-president has said that Sonal Dhinush is similar to the legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.
Shukla, also tagging Sri Lanka Cricket, wrote on his X account, “Sri Lankan Sonal is an amazing player, he is like Sachin Tendulkar, he has the potential to be a great Test player going forward in international cricket.”
Sonal Dinusha scored 50-plus scores in four consecutive innings in the two-Test series against India.
Sonal, who scored 100 and 84 in the first Test in Galle, scored 103 in the first innings of the second Test in Colombo.
He joined the Sri Lankan back-row batsmen in their fight to avoid defeat in the face of a huge target set by India, and scored an unbeaten half-century and a century in the second innings.
