Former Minister Johnston Fernando said that Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa is frequently summoned to the Financial Crimes Investigation Division because the government cannot bear the public power that has built up around him.

He pointed out that this summons is a failed attempt by the government to ignore Namal Rajapaksa's success and that the results of these measures will be seen in the future. He further commented as follows:

“We come every time we are asked to come. We face this without fear because we have not done anything wrong. This is not new to us. When the government sees the people coming for Mr. Namal Rajapaksa, it cannot bear it. That is why these unsuccessful attempts are being made. The government will fall further due to these. This will have consequences in the future…”

He expressed these views while addressing journalists today (21) when MP Namal Rajapaksa was summoned to the FCID.
