Former cricketer Tillakaratne Dilshan has filed a complaint with the Central Crime Investigation Bureau .
In this complaint, he claims that false and defamatory propaganda is being spread on social media by linking him to a large-scale drug trafficker who is in custody.
Speaking to the media after filing the complaint, he stated that a group of social media pages and individuals are causing serious damage to his reputation with the aim of increasing user views.
He said that he is not involved in any improper financial transactions or illegal activities and that he is filing this complaint against Venerable Rajanganeya Saddharathana Thero, Keerthi Ratnayake and a group of others due to these allegations.
"A person named Keerthi Ratnayake and a monk calling himself the Venerable Rajanganaya are using my image to defame my reputation and are severely insulting me on social media. I cannot be insulted in this way after playing for the country for twenty years, breaking all ten fingers and bringing honor to the country. My daughter is currently representing the under-19 women's cricket team. Such false propaganda is having a severe psychological impact on my children," he said.
